Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a common sexually transmitted infection, and studies show that 80% of sexually active individuals (both men and women) will encounter the virus at least once. Dr. Cubal will explain the follow-up process for your specific case and provide information on prevention and treatment options.

Screening for cervical cancer is done through a Pap smear (cytology). If the results are abnormal, a thorough examination of the cervix is necessary. This is a painless gynecological examination that uses an enlargement to better visualize the cervix. Generally, surveillance every six months is necessary, but if suspicious lesions are detected, a biopsy of the cervix may be required. Dr. Cubal follows the latest recommendations and will create a customized plan specific to your case.

The HPV virus is also responsible for vaginal pathologies, which is why we examine it in detail during our colposcopy examination. Dr. Cubal will provide a comprehensive examination and any necessary follow-up care.

Vulvar pathologies are often neglected, but Dr. Cubal pays particular attention to them. If you have had vulvar itching for months with no response to treatment or have a vulvar lesion that worries you, please do not hesitate to talk to us. We will provide a thorough examination and personalized treatment plan.
