Senology

Dr. Gillon is particularly interested in senology and a member of the “Young Senologists” of the Swiss Society of Senology. She has gained experience by working in different breast centers and is proficient in performing breast ultrasounds as well as biopsies when required.

Breast pain can be hormonal, mechanical, or infectious. Although often benign, it can significantly impact daily life, causing anxiety and fear of cancer. Dr. Gillon is here to help investigate and treat the pain to improve your quality of life.

Appearing generally as a painful, red, warm, and swollen area, mastitis and breast abscess can, in most cases, be followed and treated at the clinic. For breastfeeding women, this does not require a interruption of breastfeeding, quite the contrary!

The self-palpation of a lump or a change in breast shape requires special attention and can cause significant anxiety. Dr. Gillon will take care of you as soon as possible with the goal of seeing you within the week. A mammogram will be organized beforehand depending on your age and context.

The mammogram performed as part of breast cancer screening sometimes requires additional breast ultrasound. In case of detection of a lump, an ultrasound follow-up or a biopsy may be necessary.

Ultrasound examinations are quick and painless, while biopsies are performed under local anesthesia and guided by ultrasound imaging. In most cases, the biopsy can be done on the same day.

During and following treatment for breast cancer, regular surveillance is recommended to monitor for any potential recurrence or new cancers. Our centre follows the Swiss guidelines, which include physical examination, mammograms, and breast ultrasound based on the type of cancer and years since diagnosis. We will schedule these appointments for you, and they will also serve as an opportunity for us to discuss your needs and concerns.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are here for you.
