Our Services

Senology

Dr. Tessa Gillon holds a diploma in senology and is a member of the Young Senologists of the Swiss Society of Senology. She has deepened her expertise by working in various breast centers. She performs breast ultrasounds and biopsies when necessary.

Sénologie à Fribourg

Breast pain | Mastodynia

Pain in one or both breasts may be hormonal (related to the menstrual cycle), mechanical (cyst, dense tissue), or infectious. Often, the pain is isolated and not a sign of a serious condition, but it can be uncomfortable in daily life (during sports or work) and may cause anxiety (fear of cancer). Contact us!

Mastitis | Breast abscess

Usually presenting as a painful, red, warm, and swollen area, mastitis and breast abscesses can, in most cases, be treated and monitored at the clinic.

For breastfeeding women, this does not require stopping breastfeeding—quite the opposite!

Breast lump

Finding a lump or a change in breast shape requires careful evaluation. This situation can be very stressful, and we ensure prompt care, usually within a week, for a clinical and ultrasound assessment.

Breast ultrasound

When a mammogram is performed as part of breast cancer screening, an additional breast ultrasound may sometimes be necessary. The ultrasound is quick and painless.

If a lump is detected, ultrasound monitoring or a biopsy may be required.

Breast biopsy

A breast biopsy is performed directly at our clinic without any special preparation.

Under local anesthesia and ultrasound guidance, the procedure is quick and painless.

Diagnosis | Post-breast cancer follow-up

During and after breast cancer treatment, regular follow-up is organized according to Swiss guidelines. This includes a physical examination, mammography, and ultrasound, scheduled based on the type of cancer and time since diagnosis. We will plan these appointments for you. It is also a valuable opportunity to discuss your needs, concerns, and expectations.
