Annual check-up and Pap smear

Beyond screening for cervical and breast cancer, as well as sexually transmitted infections, the annual check-up is a valuable opportunity to discuss contraception, sexuality, or any other concerns or questions you may have.

Consultation for teenagers

Painful periods, questions about this new stage, or any concerns?

We’re here to listen, reassure you, and most importantly, to ease any worries you may have about your medical care as a woman.

Menopause and perimenopause

Menopause is defined as the permanent end of menstruation caused by a drop in the production of sex hormones, occurring on average around the age of 51. Perimenopause is the transitional period surrounding it, which can last for varying lengths of time. This stage of life can sometimes feel unsettling or uncomfortable. Don’t hesitate to talk to us — together, we’ll find the best solution to make this transition smoother and more comfortable for you.

Hormonal disorders

Hormonal disorders (such as amenorrhea, polycystic ovary syndrome, etc.) can manifest in many different ways, and each woman may experience symptoms differently. The main indicator is usually an irregular menstrual cycle, which may or may not be accompanied by more general symptoms.

Don’t hesitate to talk to us, and together we’ll find the most suitable solutions.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is known to cause severe menstrual pain and can sometimes lead to difficulties with conception. It is increasingly being diagnosed in the population, and early detection is important to help improve quality of life on a daily basis.
Let’s talk about it.

Difficulty conceiving

We can provide an initial assessment along with clear explanations of the results and available options. If needed, we will refer you to our network of fertility specialists experienced in assisted reproductive technology (ART). We are also here to support you if you pursue treatment abroad, serving as your consistent point of contact throughout your journey.

Miscarriage

A painful event, often linked to a genetic issue with the embryo. When it occurs repeatedly (three or more times), an underlying condition in one or both partners may be the cause and should be investigated. The emotional impact can be significant for both the woman and her loved ones. We are here to guide and support you through this experience.

Ectopic pregnancy

A pregnancy that develops outside the uterine cavity is not viable and can pose a serious health risk requiring urgent medical care.
If you experience severe pain that does not improve with painkillers and have a positive pregnancy test, we recommend going directly to the emergency department at the Fribourg Cantonal Hospital.

Voluntary termination of pregnancy

A pregnancy is not always good news, and we understand that.
According to Swiss law, a voluntary termination of pregnancy (VTP) is permitted up to 12 weeks of amenorrhea.
At our center, we are here to listen and guide you toward the option that suits you best with compassion and without any judgment.

Uterine fibroids

Benign (non-cancerous) tumors of the uterus are often asymptomatic. When symptoms occur, they may include heavy menstrual bleeding, a feeling of pelvic pressure, or even abdominal enlargement.
An accurate diagnosis is essential for proper care.

Ovarian cysts

These are common in young women and often disappear spontaneously.
In most cases, they only require regular monitoring. Depending on their evolution and appearance on ultrasound, further investigations or treatment may be necessary.

Urinary incontinence

Urinary leakage remains a sensitive and often overlooked topic. After pregnancy or menopause, urinary incontinence is common. Don’t hesitate to talk to us so we can develop a personalized treatment plan, whether conservative or surgical if needed.
